Lecture | Anna Fünfgeld on "State and Coal in East Kalimantan (Indonesia)", July 24th
As the last lecture in the series on resource conflict at the Arnold-Bergstraesser-Institut in Freiburg, Anna Fuenfgeld will present her research on the topic.
The lecture will consist of the presentation of an empirical study on the local conflict on coal mining in the Indonesian metropolis Samarinda. Using a practice theory approach, different aspects of state-ness on the local policy level will be analyzed. By this, the lecture will demonstrate how practices of different actors run against conventional expectations of state-ness and how state-ness is constantly re-negotiated in the process of resource exploitation.
The lecture will be held on Thursday, July 24th from 4 to 6 PM in the conference room at the ABI. The lecture will be held in German.
