Lecture Series | Entwicklungswelten im Wandel
In May and June 2014, the Colloquium Politicum lecture cycle at the University of Freiburg will include a lecture series on Change in the Global South. Some of the featured lecture will touch upon themes related to Southeast Asia.
In the first lecture, on May 15th, Tanja Gönner which is the spokesperson for the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) will talk about current global challenges and the role of development cooperation.
On May 27th, Dr. Moritz Hunsmann from EHESS Paris will give a political economic perspective of the HIV/AIDS campaign in Tanzania.
On June 2nd, Prof. em. Ute Luig from the Free University of Berlin will talk about the Red Khmer tribunal and differing rural, urban and international perspectives.
Finally, on June 17th, Dr. Kristina Dietz, also from the Free University of Berlin, will talk about Neo-Extractivism in Latin America. The talk will cover dynamics and contradictions of resource-based development in the 21st century.
All talks will be held in room HS1199 in KG1 from 8 to 10 pm.
