Stefan Rother has been invited to the University of the Philippines, Diliman, Manila as a visiting professor
During his stay in February and March 2018, he will give lectures and conduct research on the topic of migration and democracy.
Building upon previous research, the goal is to employ a multi-level perspective on the participation of labor migrants and their organizations in migration governance, reaching from the national and transnational involvement to the advocacy on the regional and global level. Manila is an established hub for these interconnected levels of activism due to the presence of networks such as Migrant Forum in Asia (MFA) and Migrante International. On February 28, Rother will give a lecture on "Global Migration governance from below? Migrant civil society and the global compact for migration".
