Founding of Southeast Asia working group in the German Society for Asia Studies

— filed under:

Members of the German Society for Asia Studies (DGA) have founded a working group on Southeast Asia. The first meeting of the group will take place at the next DGA-conference from 28 - 30 May

Goal of the working group is to facilitate networking and academic exchange of those interested in Southeast Asian Studies inside the DGA as well as to promote social-science based Southeast Asian area studies externally.

The founding meeting in May will serve as an introduction to the working group, a related panel is currently being planned as well. You can download the current concept for the working group (in German) here.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the group, or should you have any suggestions or inquiries, the organizers Claudia Derichs, Stefan Rother and Patrick Ziegenhain can be reached at suedostasien[at]asienkunde.de
