Mareike Well

Mareike Well, born 1987, is pursuing her MA degree in Political Science at the University of Freiburg. In 2010, she received her BA degree in German Linguistics and Literature as well as in Political Science from Freiburg University. In 2011 she received diplomas in Political Science as well as in Comparative Law from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques and the Université Paul Cézanne in Aix-en-Provence. Her studies in France were sponsored by the German Academic Exchange Service. From 2008-2012 she worked as a research assistant and tutor at the Department of Political Science (International Relations).

Her main interests lie in international environmental governance, diffusion of climate change policies in interregional relations and development studies. Currently, she is conducting field research on development indicators in Indonesia. This research project is carried out jointly with Sophia Hornbacher-Schönleber and Gerrit Gonschorek and is part of the applied interdisciplinary research of the SEA Studies Program in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) Indonesia.
