Lukas Maximilian Müller is currently a PhD researcher in Political Science at the University of Freiburg. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business and Global Studies from Roskilde University, Denmark and a Master's degree in Political Science from the University of Freiburg, Germany. Additionally, he has attended the Warsaw School of Economics and Chulalongkorn University.
Lukas has published on on EU-ASEAN interregionalism, ASEAN's political, economic and infrastructural governance mechanisms. Additional research interests include ECOWAS, particularly the ECOWAS Commission and, more generally, the functioning of regional organizations in the Global South and the impact of external partner support.
Lukas also works as a researcher for the Asia-Europe Foundation regarding the mainstreaming of the Sustainable Development Goals in the CLMV countries.
